Who won X-games vert in 1996?

Who won X-games vert in 1996? When I started riding in 1996 I didn't know anything about BMX. If you wanted to know about BMX you would look at the magazine in the super market, go to your local bike track, buy a VHS tape or go to an event.
I haven't watch this but I am going to let you know the tricks he does and my perspective on them. The top vert Pro's were Dave Mirra, Jamie Bestwick, Matt hoffman, and Dennis McCoy.

Starts run, drops in, pedals on flat (This is crazy. I would think this slows you down, is sketchy, or you can generate more speed pumping), he does three airs to get about 10-12 feet out of the ramp. does a no footer to indian air (kind of hard to tell), no footed can can, candy bar (IDK how anyone does these), bar spin one hander to bar spin back (made it look easy), 540 table, Tail whip, air/carve, double peg grind, smith, feebles is going to slow/leans over to much and ends his run but is dropping in again
He drops in and airs 3 times to get to 10-12 foot airs, on forth air he does a 540 no hander to no footer and lands really high, tail whip air 6-8 feet out (lands a lil flat and doesn't pump), bar spin under coping, 540 under coping, double peg stall, double peg grind, feeble to tooth pick donk.

Overall it was impressive to this day and time but it really shows you that progression has came a long way. Riders are not using brake, going twice as high, are not using pegs and the course is a really big bowl. You really can't comprehend riding a high 30-40lb bike unless you rode in this time. A lot harder to man handle your bike, your bars spun slow, tail whips felt impossible and you could get knock out by the momentum your carried when you fell. Super props to the men going big on X-games you always hyped me up to go ride.
