It is machined out of super hard 7075 aluminum and has a guard that protects the chain from breakage. The sprocket has four sprocket bolt holes so you can rotate it to get more life out of it. The guard is cut out to fit any cranks set on it including 1pc, 2pc, 3pc, 19mm, 22mm, and 24mm crank sets or spindle sizes. The hard anodizing finish makes it even stronger and has a laser etched Merritt logo to give it a clean look.
